The Signature Race is On
Two months to go for final turn-in of parental notification signatures...
The number of valid signatures required to put parental notification in the California ballot is 585,407. But because of invalid or duplicate signatures we must turn in 850,000 raw signatures.
As of January 11, we had 198,000 raw signatures in hand. We are optimistic that because of big shifts in the paid signature market and among churches for volunteer signatures, we will reach our goal.
March 15 is the date when signatures must be turned into each of the 58 counties in the state. But in order to sort, count, and deliver to all the counties, the last day to turn in to Californians for Parental Rights headquarters will be March 10.
Please keep collecting signatures whenever and wherever you can. And turn in petitions as soon as they are completed – even if you are not done collecting. This will avoid a logjam at the end and allow us to be sure we have enough.
